Background of the Sale
Jennifer Higdon

Co-owner, Jennifer Higdon

Jennifer Higdon is the new Staff Developer at Daviess County High School.  Prior to that, she taught at Apollo High School for 13 years, teaching English, Fine Arts, and Drama.  She is also a former "Family Adventures" columnist for the Messenger-Inquirer and active member of the Junior League of Owensboro since 2000.  She is married to Scott Higdon, a sales manager at CRS OneSource.  Together, they have three children:  Ethan, age 8; Eva Grace, age 6; and Veronica, 5.  Her hobbies include shopping at flea-markets, auctions, and yard sales.

Stephanie Higdon is employed at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners-Texas Gas in the Property Tax Department.  She has worked there for 21 years.  She is married to Jeff Higdon, Director of Project Procurement at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners-Texas Gas.  They have one son:  Reece, age 9.  Her hobbies include bargain shopping, interior decorating and scrapbooking.  She loves this twice yearly consignment sale for many reason.  She loves seeing people get things they really need for a great price.  Another thrill for her is seeing those in need receive items that have been donated after the sale.  She says it makes her feel good when she see a child's eyes light up over getting a new outfit or toy!  After all of the hard work that is put into this sale, this makes it all worth it to her.

Both Jennifer and Stephanie feel blessed by The Tot, the Teen, and the Wardrobe Consignment Sale, which they feel is a win-win for the community, the shoppers, and the buyers.  Consignors get an opportunity to get a return on the items they invest in for their children and their home, shoppers get a chance to buy items at a fraction of the retail cost, and the community gets top-quality donations for charitable causes after the sale.  As they continue to grow and improve their business, they can only hope it becomes an event the whole city of Owensboro and surrounding communities look forward to- two to three times a year!
